[Look At Me Now...]

....in the words of Chris Brown who posted this picture on Twitter last night. Is that BLONDE we see?! Well the good news is....at least the new CB news has nothing to do with court or Twitter beefs! What do you guys think??

Jess says: Chris Brown can do no wrong (appearance wise anyway), I love it!

[No Words]

Photobucket
There comes a time in every girl's life where she see's a pair of shoes that not only brings tears to her eyes, but takes the words right out of her mouth. In my fantasy world, these shoes would be the first thing you saw in my walk in closet....hmmm, maybe someday. So until then, I will look on...patiently waiting.

[Black Fashion Icon: Grace Jones]

Known for her provocative and ecletic style, Ms. Grace Jones is what some of your favorite pop star aspires to be. During the 80s Grace Jones broke necks with her androgynous looks and outrageous costumes. Kelis, Amber Rose, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna have all been accused of copying her style. And she has made the world well aware of it. Pop the top to see the evolution of Grace Jones...

[RiRi's Big Blue Ballgown]

Last night Rihanna rocked this over-the-top blue ballgown designed by Christian Dior Couture to the 2011 Brit Awards in London. She went from "barely there" at the 2011 Grammys a few days ago, to "way to much".

Jess says: had it been anybody else, they would have gotten FINED! However, Rihanna's edginess gives her yet another pass on this dress. Maybe if she got rid of the red hair, this look would be a little easier to digest. Thoughts???

The promo for Rihanna's first perfume Reb'l Fleur has finally dropped. Great concept and loved the colors. Enjoy!!!

[Rumor: Amare' Stoudemire Vogues]

Photobucket
There's a little rumor going around the fashion industry that Amare' Stoudemire (pictured here with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour) will be the next man to land a cover of Vogue Magazine. Ever since he landed in NY last year he has been very chummy with Anna Wintour. I guess it helps to know people, cause the word is that he's already did a photo shoot for the April issue. Can't wait to see what direction they went with the shoot, and we're sure the styling will be impeccable.

[Product Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects]

Hey everybody! Kei here with a product review that I know you all will love. I'm obsessed with nail polish (but then again what girl isn't?) and I constanly change the color of my nails. I'm always looking for new and different things to do with my nails. I was interested in trying Minx nails, but after researching the steep prices for a nail effect that only lasts a little under a week, I quickly trashed that idea. So I heard about the new Sally Hansen Salon Effects, and was a little apprehensive, but when it comes to products I'll try anything once. Pop the top to find out how I liked the Salon Effects and pics of the final outcome...given in the packaging. The only down side I found to this product was the lack of prints and colors that interest me. I really liked the fishnet print, and that's what I decided to buy...did I mention it only cost about $9.99. I will definitely try these again. Loved them!!!

[Real Bazaar Style]

Hi Bazaar Babies!!! We're introducing a new section here at the Haus of Bazaar called "Real Bazaar Style." This section is for all those girls (and guys, too) who have a unique personal style. While it's all good to feature what's going on in fashion magazines and on the runway...we all know that an individuals personal style is what really matters.
So today we introduce you to our first Real Bazaar Girl! Her name is Jillian, and we randomly spotted Jillian on the campus of Norfolk State University hanging out in the student union. We saw her vintage vest and just knew we had to ask her for a couple pics. Pop the top to see more of Jillian...

[Paving the RUNway: Naomi Sims]

Photobucket
Naomi Sims was the first African American Model to cover a major magazine (Ladies' Home Journal 1968) and is also disputed as The First Black Supermodel. Naomi has graced the runways of Halston and was photographed and interview by acclaimed artist Andy Warhol. Though Naomi was a face of the late sixties and early seventies, many of her pictures are very relevant today due to her modern look. Ms. Sims died of breast cancer August 2009. She will forever be accredited to paving the way for supermodels who have gained overwhelming notoriety in today's fashion industry. Pop the top to see more pics of Ms. Sims...

[Paving the RUNway: Donyale Luna ]

Before Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, or Iman first stepped foot on a runway, there was Donyale Luna...arguably the first African-American supermodel. Born Peggy Anne Freeman in Detroit Michigan in 1945, she was able to get her start by moving to New York City after being discovered by photographer David McCabe, where she eventually graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar in 1965, and was the first black woman to appear on the cover of Vogue in 1966.

Of her success, she said, “Back in Detroit I wasn’t considered beautiful or anything, but here I’m different… They were looking for a new kind of model, a girl who is beautiful like you’ve never seen before.”

[The First Black Fashion Designer]

Photobucket

Elizabeth Hobbs Keckly was born into slavery in 1818. Keckly's mother, who was also a slave, taught Elizabeth how to sew in between doing various chores on the plantation. And Elizabeth also taught herself how to read. She was forced to work for a seamstress to make money for her slave-master, and in doing so created a large enough clientele to borrow enough money to buy her son and herself out of slavery. She then made her way to Washington D.C. were she started her own business, expressing to her clients that her dream was to be the official "modiste" of the White House. Word spread and Keckly was soon asked to design and construct an inaguration gown for Mary Todd Lincoln (President Abraham Lincoln's wife). The Lincoln's loved the gown so much that Elizabeth was asked to become Mary Lincoln's official dressmaker. Pop the top to see the dress Elizabeth Keckly designed for Mrs. Lincoln...

[Who Wants a Birkin Bag?]

Always wanted a Hermes Birkin Bag, but $15,000 and more is just too rich for your blood? And is getting on a six month waiting list just too much for a handbag? Yeah us too, but we've got some good news, you can have your very own Birkin for just $35. Well, not quite, you can have your very own tote by Thursday Friday inspired by the ever-so-loved Birkin bag. The "Together Tote" comes in red, blue, and camel.

[Aldo Shoes Goes Tribal for Spring]

Aldo and Julian Louie will be releasing these little pieces of tribal perfection sometime in April. Needless to say...WE CAN'T WAIT!!! What do the bazaar bishes think? Who's getting a pair (or two), if so, which ones? I'll take the second pair on the first row, TO DIE FOR!!!

[Praises Due to the Most Fly Prada]

Prada's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection has been catching a lot of attention with it's bright colors and eccentric patterns, but the multi-colored fox stoles are the real stand outs of the collection. This haute accessory has been seen on Rihanna and Anna Del Russo...and we're sure this is just the beginning. Pop the top to see more spottings...
